About Learning Resources Centre:

Library plays a vital role in acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge. STEM School’s library is the heart and soul of the school, while the role of the school’s library remains constant, its design, digital platform, strategies and tools have changed over time.  A well-stocked library-cum-resource center has been set up for the benefit of both teachers and students. STEM SCHOOL is one of the best stocked-library in the city. With over 5000+ books and magazines, STEM School provides ample opportunities to students to upgrade their knowledge through a wide range of books on every possible subject. The school’s library is open to all bonafide students of the school during the school hours. All classes (I-X) are provided with at least one library period per week. General rules of the library for all students using the library facility anytime. The library has in its store 61 periodicals on Science, Economics, and Competitive exam, Technology, General Science and Environment, Animals, Business Food and Technology, Farming, Horticulture, Animal Sciences to enrich the curious minds. The wide variety of books including fiction and nonfiction in English language is a mode of enhancing reading habit among the students and providing them with an effective leisure. The humongous amount of reference books, Encyclopedias and Dictionaries, Biographies help the keen readers to satisfy their quest and rejoice the process of learning.

 

Periodical Section:

 The Periodicals Section is the place where needed information could be found in journals, magazines, newspapers. There is a growing demand in the areas of newspapers, journals and magazines research. In response to this, the Learning  Resources Centre has subscribed more than 60 current titles of print Magazines and Journals  from both National and international resources. Learning Resources Centre Subscribed 10 titles of News Papers.

 

Best Library User Awards:

To promote maximum and proper utilization of library facilities and services, the Learning Resources Centre gives away “Best Library User” award to the students every Month who makes maximum use of the library resources and facilities. Two students (one from each Primary and Secondary) are selected for the award on the basis of the following evaluative criteria:

  1. Number of books borrowed from the library in the current session (Textbooks along with the General Reading books will be taken into consideration) (Weightage 25%)
  2. Number of visits to the library. (Only one visit per day will be taken into consideration)  (Weightage 25%)
  3. Timely return of books. (Weightage 20%)
  4. Code of conduct    (Weightage 30%)

All the students are thus suggested to visit the library and make optimum use of Library facilities and resources.

  • Library Security: CCTV Camera.
  • Plagiarism Service.
  • Information Media Centre.
  • Keeping the Library Premises Neat and Clean.

Note: Books other than reference books are issued for 7 days for students. Fine @ Rs. 10/-per day will charged for returning books late.

Library Rules:

  • Students should not bring their personal books and reading material to the library.
  • Identity Card is essential for issuing books.
  • Identity Card is not transferable.
  • Silence must be maintained in the library.
  • Books lost/damaged/disfigured will have to be paid for or replaced by the borrower within a fortnight.
  • The books borrowed must be returned by the due date mentioned in the book, irrespective of whether the student has a designated library period on the said date.
  • Loss of a library book must be reported immediately to the library.
  • Students must carry almanac and library notebook to the library in their library period.
  • Any child found damaging or defacing a library book would be debarred from using the library for the rest of the academic session.
  • Students should not take books out of the library without the permission of the librarian.
  • In case a student is on long leave, library books should be sent to the librarian by parents/guardian. Late fine would be applicable in case of delay of return of books.
